About this biomarker
C-reactive protein (CRP) is an inflammation marker produced by the liver. Elevated CRP indicates that there may be inflammation or tissue damage somewhere in the body. Measuring CRP helps detect infections, chronic inflammatory conditions, or recovery after injury or surgery.
